Structure Fire Call Downgraded: Green Knoll Firefighters Rapidly Subdue Vehicle and Vegetation Blaze

Somerset, NJ - Firefighters quickly contained a fully involved vehicle fire and burning vegetation Tuesday afternoon, preventing the intense flames from spreading into an adjacent residential home.

On Tuesday afternoon, September 8, the Green Knoll Fire Department (Bridgewater Township Fire District 3) in Somerset County was dispatched for an initial report of a residential structure fire.

Chief 34 arrived first on location to find a vehicle fully engulfed in flames in the driveway of the property, with the fire spreading rapidly to an adjacent, large pine tree. Operating quickly to establish scene command and evaluate exposures, the Chief confirmed that the heavy flames and radiant heat had not extended into the nearby dwelling.
