September 3, 2025 — At 12:29 p.m., Bantam Fire Company responded alongside Litchfield Fire Department, Litchfield Ambulance Association, and HHC Northwest Paramedics to a medical emergency on the White Memorial Conservation Center boardwalk.
Bantam Car 4 was first to reach the patient, an elderly male in distress, and advised incoming units to access the trail from South Lake Street. Litchfield Fire Car 2 assumed command of the incident.
In a coordinated effort, crews from all agencies packaged the patient in a Stokes basket, transported him along the trail using a wheel device, and transferred him to Bantam Fire’s UTV 31 for removal to the waiting Litchfield Ambulance.
The patient was then transported to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for evaluation.
