September 5, 2025 — On the afternoon of September 5, 2025, the Town of Canton Fire & EMS was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Bahre Corner Road.
Upon arrival, responding units discovered a working fire located in a second-floor bedroom and adjacent knee walls. Due to the absence of hydrants in the area, an automatic mutual aid assignment and a tanker strike team were requested.
Through a rapid and well-coordinated effort by all personnel, the fire was brought under control in a timely manner. Mutual aid companies were released from the scene shortly thereafter.
The Town of Canton Fire & EMS expressed appreciation to the Canton Police Department and the Simsbury Fire Department for their valuable assistance. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
