NEWBURGH, NY - Cronomer Valley FD responded to a vehicle that was smoking after striking a pole on Chestnut Lane, September 12th. Police advised that the vehicle was smoking and then caught fire, which was extinguished by firefighters using hand lines. The driver was uninjured. Central Hudson was called to inspect the pole, which was split at the bottom. Town of Newburgh Police are investigating the cause.
