Oakland Fire Crews Called to Shorey Road Fire

September 4, 2026 — Winslow, Maine: In response to a reported structure fire on Shorey Road early on Friday morning, Oakland Fire Rescue offered mutual help to the Winslow Fire Department.

The fire at a house at 130 Shorey Road was reported at around 12:27 a.m. Firefighters discovered that the front part of the house and the roof were the main sources of the fire when they arrived.

The fire was contained by firefighters. Despite being unoccupied for a number of years, the house was apparently still powered on. There were no reported injuries.

The origin and cause of the fire were investigated by the Maine State Fire Marshal's Office, and the inquiry is still ongoing.
