Mendon firefighters train with heavy-lifting equipment

MENDON, Mass. (Aug. 21, 2025) — Mendon firefighters practiced heavy-lifting techniques during a department-wide training session Thursday night, officials said.
Under the direction of Deputy Chief Ostroskey, members used high-pressure air bags and cribbing carried on the squad truck to simulate lifting heavy objects from a pinned victim.
The Mendon Highway Department provided a jersey barrier for the training yard, allowing crews to carry out multiple realistic scenarios.
