Hope, NJ - Hope Volunteer Fire Department Station 38 was dispatched for a reported working vehicle fire on Route 80 westbound near mile marker 10.4. On arrival, crews found a van well involved with fire extending into nearby brush along the roadside.

Firefighters quickly stretched lines and initiated an aggressive attack to bring the fire under control while also preventing further spread into the surrounding vegetation.

On 22 August 2026, Rescue Engine, Engine, and Tanker units worked together to extinguish the fully involved vehicle fire and knock down the extending brush fire. Crews completed suppression operations efficiently, ensuring all hot spots were fully extinguished and the area was secured before clearing the scene.

The quick coordinated response helped limit fire spread and restored safety to the roadway and surrounding area.
