At 03:12hrs The South Windham FD with automatic aid from Windham Center, North Windham, City of Willimantic Engine-101 and Yantic FAST were dispatched to a dwelling fire on Jaynes Ave in the Windham Camp Meeting Association Development. Numerous 911 calls reported a possible civilian trapped. City of Willimantic Rescue-601 and Windham Medic -31 and 32 were added to the assignment. City of Willimantic Engine 101 arrived and reported a fully involved dwelling. Exterior attack was started on this 1.5 story cabin-like dwelling. Crews were unable to make entry due to fire damage All hands worked to gain access to the fire which was on two floors by cutting through walls and raising ground ladders to extinguish the fire Aid was added from Lebanon. The fire took over and hours to extinguish. One civilian was found deceased on the 2nd floor. Local and state Fire Marshals Office are investigating
