Montvale, NJ - Montvale Volunteer Fire Department units have been dispatched at approximately 2:40 PM to multiple reports of a vehicle fire on the Garden State Parkway northbound in Bergen County on 6 September, where smoke and flames were reported visible upon dispatch.

Upon arrival at mile marker 171.9 northbound, Montvale Fire Department M11 has confirmed a well-involved vehicle fire, prompting an immediate and aggressive suppression response to prevent spread and restore roadway safety.

Rescue Engine M1 has arrived on scene along with Woodcliff Lake Fire Department Station 68 Squad, and crews have worked in coordinated fashion using water and foam to rapidly bring the fire under control. South Spring Valley Fire Department has also been dispatched due to the proximity of the incident to the New York state line, providing additional support and coverage.

Through the combined efforts of Montvale Volunteer Fire Department, Woodcliff Lake Fire Department, and South Spring Valley Fire Department, the vehicle fire has been successfully extinguished without incident. All units have ensured full knockdown, scene safety, and roadway clearance prior to returning to service.
