Vehicle Fire Near Home, No Injuries

On Sunday, 3 August 2025, at approximately 7:36 p.m., crews from the South Killingly and Sterling Fire Departments were dispatched to a vehicle fire on Valley View Road in Sterling. Upon arrival, responders found the burning vehicle dangerously close to a residential structure. Through coordinated efforts, firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze, preserving nearby buildings and ensuring no injuries occurred.

The Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Company later confirmed that the incident took place at 167 Valley View Road, affirming the vehicle fire’s proximity to home structures. With the fire contained, mutual aid crews concluded operations efficiently, demonstrating effective teamwork between departments.
