Motorcycle Crash, Hit-and-Run in Windham”
On Wednesday, 6 August 2025, at approximately 8:54 p.m., the North Windham Fire Department responded to a serious traffic collision on Club Road in Windham, involving two motorcycles and a moped. A fast-moving Suzuki motorcycle lost control in a slight left turn, sliding into the other stopped two-wheeled vehicles and ejecting all operators, according to state police.
Emergency crews, including Windham Hospital Paramedics, Willimantic Fire Department Ambulances, Windham Center Fire Department, Connecticut State Police, and Lifestar, were dispatched. While two medical aircraft were initially requested, only one—Life Star 2—ultimately transported a rider with life-threatening injuries to Hartford Hospital. A second operator was taken via ambulance, and the third fled on foot with unknown injuries.
During the response, a North Windham Fire Rescue apparatus serving as a roadblock was struck by a white Dodge Ram pickup, which fled eastbound. No firefighters were injured, and Rescue 102 remained in service. Authorities are now seeking information about the vehicle.
The crash site near the Franco American Club led to road closures to facilitate emergency operations. The roadway was reopened around 12:15 a.m. Thursday, 7 August, and the Connecticut State Police continue their investigation.
