Lisbon Firefighters Managed Three Simultaneous Emergencies
Friday, 5 September 2025 – The Lisbon Fire Department responded to seven calls for assistance between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., including two medical emergencies and a car accident with fire that all occurred within minutes of each other.
At the height of the afternoon response, 16 firefighters were committed to the car accident while additional personnel simultaneously managed the two medical calls. Thanks to the combined efforts of both volunteer members and paid staff, all incidents were handled successfully without delay.
As of this date, the department has responded to 707 calls in 2025. Chief David Gifford praised his members, calling it a “proud chief day”, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to the men and women of the Lisbon Fire Department for their dedication and teamwork.
