The Griswold Fire Department extended its thanks to Lucy’s FURniture Rescue for restoring a historic fire tool once used by the department.

Chief Merchant discovered the weathered tool, which had seen years of active service, and turned it over to Lucy’s FURniture Rescue for restoration. The business transformed the fire-beaten piece into what department officials called a true masterpiece.

“This project means a lot to us,” the department said. “We take enormous pride in preserving our history, and Lucy’s FURniture Rescue helped us hold on to another small but meaningful piece of it.”

The fire department praised the business’s care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, noting that if they could bring new life to such a battered tool, they could restore just about anything.
