The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Robert S. Tucker will presided over a promotion ceremony for 109 members at Queens College.
One Deputy Chief was promoted to the rank of Deputy Assistant Chief, two Battalion Chiefs were promoted to Deputy Chief, 12 Captains were promoted to the rank of Battalion Chief, 38 Lieutenants were promoted to the rank of Captain, and 56 Firefighters will be promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
A special presentation by Commissioner Tucker Honored Lt. Joe LaPointe who has been the face of the FDNY Ceremonial Unit for nearly 25 years. In those more than two decades, he and his team have set up thousands of events for the department.
