Monday night, 25 August 2025 – The East Brooklyn Fire Department, together with the South Killingly Fire Department, Danielson Fire Department, and Mortlake Fire Company, conducted a walkthrough of the new Tractor Supply Company store.
The training exercise allowed firefighters to familiarize themselves with the building layout, including the location of hydrants, fire alarm panels, stairwells, and access points. Such pre-planning ensures that crews are prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.
Officials emphasized that these walkthroughs are critical for firefighter safety and community protection. By understanding how a building is constructed and how fire might spread within it, command officers can make more informed decisions about evacuation routes, entry points, and firefighting tactics.
The department noted that ongoing training of this kind strengthens operational readiness and helps ensure safer outcomes during real incidents.
