PARIS, Maine (Aug. 6, 2025) — The Paris Fire Department carried out its annual swift water training Wednesday evening on the lake, officials said.
Members deployed the department’s inflatable “banana boat” and tested a new propane-powered motor. Firefighters also practiced rope throws and boat-based water rescues.
The training included simulated rescues where participants challenged one another to mirror real-life conditions. Officials said members “gave 110%” while working together and keeping the exercise engaging.
