Wednesday night, 27 August 2025 – The Franklin Fire Department held a training session focused on fuel station components and emergency procedures, inviting mutual aid partners from the Yantic Fire Engine Company #1 to participate.
The training, led by Franklins Service Station Equipment, covered best practices for handling fuel-related emergencies, as well as the operation of safety systems and shutoff devices. These skills are critical for first responders, given the potential risks associated with incidents at fueling stations.
The department extended special thanks to Candy at Gulf for providing the use of the station and to Martin McKinney from Service Station Equipment for sharing his expertise. Officials emphasized that strong community and regional partnerships are key to keeping neighborhoods safe.
