FAIRFIELD, Maine (Aug. 23, 2025) — A structure fire destroyed a home on Martin Stream Road on Saturday night, according to the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Investigators, who were already in the area, responded shortly after 9 p.m. to assist Fairfield firefighters. The homeowner was not present at the time, and no injuries were reported.
Preliminary findings suggest the blaze may have started with an electrical malfunction in the ceiling or wall of the home’s addition, investigators said. Fire patterns observed at the scene were consistent with that determination, though further examination is underway.
