Impact at Rabbit Road: Three Injured After Two-Vehicle Crash at Hallowell Junction

Durham, ME - Durham Fire and Rescue responded to a serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Rabbit Road and Hallowell Road, where a significant impact left both vehicles heavily damaged and occupants requiring urgent medical attention.


Crews arrived on scene and immediately began patient assessment and stabilization, working to ensure safe access for treatment while securing the crash area and managing scene hazards. Initial findings indicated a high-energy impact requiring rapid coordinated emergency care.


The incident, which occurred on 1 September in Androscoggin County, prompted a structured response focused on patient triage, stabilization, and timely transport from the scene.


Three patients were transported to area hospitals with injuries reported as stable. Fire personnel assisted with clearing debris and supporting roadway safety operations to allow for efficient reopening once the scene was rendered safe.


The roadway was temporarily closed during operations and reopened after all patients were transferred and the crash site was fully cleared.
