Saturday, 9 August 2025 – The Bungay Fire Brigade, alongside the Woodstock Dive Team, conducted a live demonstration for the Lake Bungay Association to highlight their newest lifesaving tool: the Aqua Eye handheld sonar device.
The advanced sonar system is designed for water rescue operations, enabling responders to locate victims faster and improve survival chances during emergencies. During the demonstration, officials showed how the device scans below the surface and guides rescue divers directly to potential targets.
The acquisition of this tool was made possible thanks to generous donations from the Lake Bungay Association and its members. Fire officials emphasized that community support plays a crucial role in ensuring local emergency services have access to the latest technology.
“This equipment helps us save lives when seconds count,” the department said, thanking residents and supporters for their commitment to public safety.
