Road Closed, Fire Brigade Issues Safety Reminder

Monday, 25 August 2025 – The Bungay Fire Brigade reported that Child Road near 214 in the Bungay District was closed due to downed wires. Drivers were advised to avoid the area until crews and utility workers secured the scene.
Alongside the closure notice, the fire brigade also urged residents to stay alert as children return to school. Officials reminded the public to reduce speed in school zones, remain cautious at bus stops, and follow traffic laws requiring vehicles to stop when school buses display flashing red lights.
The department emphasized that community vigilance is essential to keeping students safe throughout the school year.
