Car fire closes part of Route 15 in Trumbull

TRUMBULL, Conn. (Aug. 16, 2025) — Fire crews in Long Hill extinguished a car fire Saturday morning after a vehicle went off Route 15 northbound and down an embankment, officials said.
The crash left the car’s engine compartment burning, but all occupants had exited before firefighters arrived, according to Long Hill Volunteer Fire Co. #1.
The fire was quickly knocked down by Engine 205, with support from Squad 209 and Long Hill 4. No injuries were reported.
