FALMOUTH, Mass. (Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025) — A small fire in the kitchen of Family Foods led to an evacuation and first-alarm response Saturday morning, officials said.

Falmouth Fire Rescue was dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. for a fire alarm at the store. Crews arrived to find a kitchen fire, which was quickly extinguished with fire extinguishers before it could spread.

The store was ventilated to clear smoke, and town inspectional services and the health agent responded to evaluate the property.

The business partially reopened later in the morning. No injuries were reported.
