Wilton, CT - The Wilton Fire Department, along with automatic daytime mutual aid, was dispatched to a reported working structure fire. Based on initial dispatch information, command requested a FAST team from Saratoga Springs Professional Fire Fighters Local 343 to respond.

Car 720 arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire, establishing command and initiating an aggressive fire attack. Crews advanced handlines and worked in coordination with incoming mutual aid companies to contain the fire and prevent extension throughout the structure. Their quick and efficient actions led to a rapid knockdown, stablizing the incident in a short time.

Operations then transitioned into overhaul, with firefighters opening up and checking for hidden fire while also assisting the homeowner in recovering salvageable belongings. Additional support agencies including Saratoga County Office of Emergency Management, Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, National Grid, local codes officials, and the Red Cross were requested to the scene to assist.

On August 13 in Saratoga County, the strong coordination between agencies once again demonstrated the value of mutual aid. Assisting departments included Gansevoort Volunteer Fire Department and Greenfield Fire District, whose prompt response contributed to the successful outcome.
