Clinton, ME - Clinton Fire Rescue units were dispatched to a reported woods fire on an island in the Sebasticook River in Clinton, Maine, after the incident was initially reported by the Clinton Police Department while they were operating on another call.

On 29 August, crews responded with Unit 8, a side-by-side wildland and EMS-capable unit equipped with a skid system carrying approximately 70 gallons of water, foam capability, and a booster line. Due to the remote island location and limited access, the unit was utilized to establish water supply and carry out direct suppression operations on the fire.

Firefighters successfully contained and extinguished the brush fire using the skid-mounted system, preventing further spread in the wooded terrain. The specialized unit allowed crews to operate effectively in difficult access conditions where traditional apparatus could not reach.

While operations were underway, Fairfield Benton Emergency Services provided station coverage to maintain emergency response availability in the area. The incident was brought under control without reported injuries, and crews completed final checks to ensure full extinguishment before clearing the scene.
