Tiverton, RI - The Tiverton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire on Furey Avenue in Tiverton, Newport County, with initial reports indicating a rear deck fire and a possible propane tank involvement.

Engine 3 arrived to find smoke showing from the rear of the residence and quickly stretched a handline to the exterior deck area. Crews located the seat of the fire and initiated an aggressive knockdown, preventing extension into the interior of the home and nearby structural components.

On 15 August, firefighters conducted thorough overhaul operations, checking siding, decking, and adjacent areas for hidden fire while securing utilities and ensuring the scene was fully stabilized. A tanker from the Little Compton Fire Department responded to assist with water supply if conditions had escalated.

The fire was contained to the rear deck with no reported injuries. The incident remains under investigation by the Tiverton Fire Prevention Office.
