Resident Temporarily Displaced Following Structure Fire

(OCALA, FL.) Aug. 29, 2022 - On Monday, August 29, at approximately 5:33 p.m., Ocala Fire Rescue's Engines 1, 3, and 4, Rescue 1, Tower 1, Battalion Chief 11 and 22, and a Safety Officer responded to a residential structure fire at the 1700 block of SW 3rd Street.

Upon arrival, crews found a single-story residence with light smoke showing from the eaves. The resident was standing outside.

Engine 1 and Rescue 1 entered the home to find heavy smoke inside the structure.

Crews located the seat of the fire in a closet at the back of the house. The fire was under control within two minutes.

Engine 4 verified the attic for fire extension while Tower 1 secured utilities.

Engine 3 completed a secondary search.

Tower 1 began ventilating the home.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

The Ocala Police Department and Marion County Fire Rescue also responded.
