Nashua, NH - Nashua Fire Rescue responded in Nashua, Hillsborough County, to a reported structure fire at 5 Lynde Street. Initial dispatch brought Engine 1 and Ladder 1 to the scene, where crews arrived to find heavy fire showing from an occupied 2½-story single-family dwelling.

On 22 August, conditions escalated rapidly, prompting a second alarm transmission by Deputy Chief Kevin F. Kerrigan, bringing all available Nashua Fire Rescue companies to the incident. In total, approximately 45 personnel, along with multiple engines, ladder companies, EMS units, special hazards, and fire investigation resources, were assigned to the scene.

Crews deployed multiple handlines and initiated aggressive fire attack operations while simultaneously conducting search efforts under difficult conditions, including significant hoarding throughout the structure. Despite access challenges, it was confirmed that all occupants had safely self-evacuated prior to arrival, and no additional persons were located inside.

Mutual aid companies provided station coverage while Nashua units operated on scene. The fire was ultimately contained to the building of origin, preventing extension to surrounding exposures. One firefighter sustained an ankle injury during operations, and the cause remains under investigation by the Nashua Fire Marshal’s Office.
