AURELIUS, N.Y. (Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025) — Firefighters quickly extinguished a shed fire Sunday night that broke out just feet from a home, officials said.
The Aurelius Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 8:11 p.m. to find the shed fully involved, with flames threatening the B-C corner of the nearby residence. Engines 1 and 2, Squads 1 and 2, Tanker 1, Quint 1 and the duty chief responded.
Mutual aid was provided on scene by Cayuga Truck 1 and Ambulance 1, Fleming Truck 2 and Auburn Ambulance. Union Springs and Throop departments covered Aurelius stations while crews operated.
A quick knockdown prevented the fire from spreading to the home. The Tanker Box and Waterloo RIT were canceled after the blaze was contained.
No injuries were reported.
