On Saturday evening, August 9, 2025, just after 8:00 PM, the Falmouth Emergency Communication Center received a report of a structure fire on Plum Hollow Road in East Falmouth.
Engine 20 from Hatchville Station 6 arrived first on scene and encountered heavy smoke and fire conditions. Firefighters stretched a hose line to the rear of the residence, where flames were most intense, and made a swift knockdown of the fire. All residents, along with their dogs, had safely evacuated prior to crews’ arrival.
Due to the extent of the blaze, significant overhaul operations were required to fully extinguish hot spots. The home sustained extensive fire damage.
One civilian was transported to Falmouth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while two firefighters were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident.
Mutual aid partners assisted both on scene and by providing station coverage across town. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the Falmouth Fire Rescue Fire Investigation Unit.
