Friday, 8 August 2025 – The West Warwick Fire Department held a blessing ceremony for its new Engine 1, led by Department Chaplain Father Lemoi, before officially placing the apparatus into service.
Engine 1 is a frontline unit that responds to approximately 3,000 emergency calls each year, making it one of the busiest pieces of equipment in the department.
Officials noted that the blessing marks not only the start of the engine’s service life but also the continued commitment of the West Warwick Fire Department to provide reliable emergency response to the community.
