Wednesday, 20 August 2025 – Members of the Colchester Fire Department continued honing their skills through two hands-on training sessions designed to replicate real-world emergencies.
As part of St. Michael’s College Fire & Rescue annual “Boot Camp,” Engine 1’s crew participated in a simulated dorm fire, working alongside partner agencies to practice coordinated fire attack and search techniques in a realistic environment.
Earlier today, Engine 2’s crew trained on forcible entry techniques, a critical skill for gaining access to buildings during emergencies. Crews also conducted aerial operations with Ladder 3, reinforcing safe and efficient practices for multi-story incidents.
Department officials emphasized that these drills ensure firefighters remain ready to respond quickly and effectively to protect the Colchester community.
