Fully Involved Car Fire Quickly Extinguished Near Ferry Access Road

Grand Isle, VT - Firefighters from the Grand Isle Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle fire along the access road to the ferry, arriving to find a car fully engulfed in flames.


Crews acted swiftly to deploy hose lines and bring the fire under control, preventing further hazards in the busy ferry area. The vehicle’s occupant was able to safely exit prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.


Mutual aid assistance was provided by the South Hero Volunteer Fire Department and North Hero Volunteer Fire Department, while the Shelburne Communications Center supported operations behind the scenes.


Additional coordination from Lake Champlain Transportation Company helped manage traffic in the area as crews worked to extinguish the fire and clear the scene.
