Orland, ME - A single-vehicle accident disrupted afternoon travel when a car lost control and rolled over, prompting an immediate mobilization of local emergency services and state law enforcement.

The initial emergency dispatch went out at approximately 4:27 p.m. on the afternoon of August 24, 2026, calling first responders to a stretch of Castine Road in Hancock County. While units were actively en route to the crash site, the Regional Communications Center (RCC) updated responding crews that the lone occupant had successfully extricated themselves from the overturned vehicle and appeared to have suffered only minor injuries.

A total of seven Orland Fire Department personnel responded to the call, deploying with Engine 512, Rescue 581, and personal vehicles to establish scene safety and manage hazards. Bucksport EMS arrived to evaluate the driver, while troopers from the Maine State Police handled the official crash investigation.

Firefighters implemented alternating one-way traffic control to keep motorists moving safely around the debris and emergency apparatus. The roadway was fully reopened to standard travel once Snow's Garage arrived on scene to safely hook up and tow the damaged vehicle away.
