Monday, 25 August 2025 – The Fanwood Fire Department was granted permission to conduct extensive training exercises at 200 South Avenue prior to the building’s scheduled demolition.
Firefighters used the unique opportunity to complete a variety of live simulations, including fire attack line advancement, search and rescue operations, vertical ventilation, mayday and rapid intervention team (RIT) scenarios, wall breaching, forcible entry, and truck operations. These realistic drills provided invaluable experience and ensured members remain sharp and ready to respond to emergencies.
The department expressed its sincere gratitude to Fabio’s Bistro, which not only allowed the use of the property but also generously provided food for firefighters after the training concluded.
