On Saturday, August 24th 2024, at 2:00 P.M., the South Floral Park Fire Department hosted a traditional wet down ceremony for Squad 181. The ceremony was conducted at South Floral Park Fire Department Headquarter. Squad 181 is a 2023 Rosenbauer Commander Engine 1500GPM/500GAL. This rig replaced a 1990 Spartan-Saulsbury 1500GPM/500GAL which formerly served Elmont Fire Department. Bellerose Terrace Fire Department, Stewart Manor Fire Department, New Hyde Park Fire Department, Floral Park Fire Department were in attendance with rigs.
