WATCHUNG, N.J. (Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025) — Firefighters from Mt. Bethel responded Saturday to a structure fire in Watchung, operating as the first-due truck on scene, officials said.
Ladder 61 arrived with a full crew and immediately began laddering the building, checking the roof for hot spots and fire extension, and performing overhaul operations inside the garage area.
The fire was brought under control with assistance from mutual aid partners. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
