In the late afternoon hours of July 12, the Deerfield Fire Department responded to a barn fire in town as a large thunderstorm rolled through. Companies had heavy fire showing and requested a second alarm to the scene. While the barn was a total loss, crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to the main residence.
