Truck crashes into Hampton building, prompting major emergency response

HAMPTON, N.J. (Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025) — A tractor-trailer collided with a sedan and struck the side of a building early Sunday, triggering a major emergency response that included rescue, hazmat and urban search teams, officials said.
The crash was reported just after 5:30 a.m. in Hampton Borough. Glen Gardner Fire Company’s Squad 12 and Wagon 12 were the first suppression and rescue units on scene.
Squad 12 firefighters helped the truck driver self-extricate and worked to mitigate a fuel spill, while Wagon 12 stretched a precautionary hose line as heavy rescue crews stabilized the building, according to the department.
Utility 12 also responded, along with the Hampton Fire Company, South Branch Emergency Services, Hunterdon County paramedics, hazmat, OEM and the county’s urban search and rescue task force.
No injuries or structural damage assessments were immediately released. The incident remains under investigation.
