Fire crews in Delran responded to a string of incidents early Saturday, including two building fires that were brought under control with help from neighboring departments, officials said.
Between 2 and 3 a.m., firefighters handled two alarm system calls. Just after 4 a.m., crews were dispatched to a building fire, where Squad 2324, the overnight volunteer crew, Delran Deputy Chief 2301 and Riverside Chief 7000 arrived within minutes. Firefighters made an interior attack and had the blaze under control in about 40 to 45 minutes, according to the department.
Later, just before 9:30 a.m., Delran firefighters and mutual aid companies were sent to Nellis Auction on Delran Parkway for another reported building fire. First-arriving units from Cinnaminson and Delran found a trash compactor burning. Crews quickly contained the flames, preventing the fire from spreading into the building, officials said.
No injuries were reported in any of the incidents, and operations at the Nellis Auction site resumed shortly after the fire was extinguished.
