At 3:42 p.m. on July 28, the Windham Fire Department was called to a collision involving a box truck on Interstate 93 heading north close to the weigh station.
The motorist was stuck, according to an off-duty Windham firefighter who reported the collision. When Chief McPherson got there, he discovered a FedEx box truck in the median on its side.
To get the driver, firefighters removed the windshield using a glass cutter that ran on batteries. With non-life-threatening injuries, the person was extricated and taken to Parkland Medical Center.
In addition to helping New Hampshire State Police with traffic control and vehicle removal, crews discovered no cargo or fluid leaks. The crash is still being looked into.
