Allendale, NJ - The Allendale Fire Department responded to the area of Franklin Turnpike and Cottage following reports of a transformer fire. On arrival, crews identified an active electrical fire involving utility equipment, with fire extension onto the roadway surface and surrounding brush area.

Out of an abundance of caution, operations were initially held until utility personnel secured and isolated the electrical power to eliminate ongoing hazards. Once the scene was confirmed safe, firefighters proceeded with suppression operations, extinguishing remaining fire pockets on the roadway and in adjacent vegetation.

Crews conducted a thorough check of the area to ensure complete extinguishment and prevent any rekindling. The incident was successfully brought under control with no reported injuries.
