Demarest, NJ - The Demarest Fire Department responded to a reported house fire on Woodland Road, where the first arriving unit encountered heavy fire showing from the second floor and attic area, prompting an immediate second alarm.

Assisting crews initiated an exterior knockdown using a deck gun before interior operations commenced. Firefighters stretched multiple handlines to contain and extinguish the fire within the structure. Due to the extent of the incident, a third alarm was later transmitted to support ongoing operations.

Crews operated for an extended duration to complete suppression and overhaul, with mutual aid departments assisting at the scene and covering the borough. Operations were conducted under the command of Chief McLoughlin, and the fire remains under investigation.
