Lakeland, FL – Lakeland Fire Department (LFD) is prepared to keep our community safe, thanks to a Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant. The Foundation recognized the need for new lifesaving equipment and awarded LFD a $35,000 grant for the HURST Jaws of Life eDRAULIC Watertight Extrication Tools.
“We are extremely grateful to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and both our local Firehouse Subs in Lakeland for providing us with this grant,” said Training Chief Matt Brown. “This funding will allow us to provide greater support to the citizens of Lakeland during emergencies.”
The battery-powered watertight rescue tool has been installed on LFD’s Heavy Rescue Truck 73 to help first responders get to victims quickly no matter the extrication scenario, including submerged rescue operations.
For the past 16 years, donations have been the driving force behind Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®, supporting first responders and public safety organizations nationwide. To learn more about Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation or donate directly, visit FirehouseSubsFoundation.org.
