McCandless, PA. — July 14 — A single-story home's attic caught fire, prompting the Highland Volunteer Fire Department to respond to a reported residential structure fire. Before firefighters could arrive, residents safely evacuated. No casualties were recorded after the fire was swiftly contained by crews. While power providers and the American Red Cross helped the homeowners, the Fire Marshal started looking into the cause.

During the incident, Highland firefighters collaborated with nearby mutual-aid organizations and McCandless fire stations. Fire departments from Ingomar, Peebles, Franklin Park, Perrysville, West View, Wexford, and Berkeley Hills were among those taking part. Crews were able to control the situation and assist the impacted residents thanks to the coordinated response.
