On July 28, 2025, an overturned tractor-trailer brought traffic to a complete standstill on Interstate 80 East near mile marker 22.2. The incident prompted a full closure of the interstate at Exit 19 as fire department units and other emergency responders worked at the scene.

According to State Police, the crash resulted in non-life-threatening injuries. Motorists experienced significant delays and were advised to seek alternate routes during the closure. Fire Department units had responded swiftly to the scene and worked actively throughout the incident, coordinating efforts to secure the area.

Later, all eastbound lanes were reopened on the morning of the incident. Authorities continue to remind drivers to slow down, remain alert, and allow emergency personnel the space they need to operate safely.
