East Bridgewater, Mass. — Aug. 8 — Firefighters from East Bridgewater and surrounding communities battled a two-alarm house fire at 522 Washington St. during the overnight hours.

Crews encountered a fire at the single-family residence that required an extended response, with hot and humid conditions making operations more difficult. Mutual-aid firefighters joined East Bridgewater crews as they worked to contain the blaze and conduct overhaul operations.

Bridgewater responded with Engine 4 and Car 2 to assist at the scene. Additional off-duty Bridgewater personnel were recalled to maintain adequate staffing while crews were committed to the mutual-aid assignment.

Firefighters spent approximately four hours bringing the two-alarm fire under control. No injuries were reported, and the cause remained under investigation.
