PATERSON, NJ - On August 8, 2025 at approximately 11:15 A.M., with the city of Paterson in a citywide water crisis due to a broken 30-inch water main, the PFD made a great stop at 325 Park Ave. in a large three-story multi-family dwelling. Due to the problems with the major water main break, the city had called for mutual aid tankers to assist. The tankers, from West Milford and Picatinny Arsenal, were on scene to assist with water supply. Due to the excessive heat, the PFD rehab unit, as well as the Passaic County Rehab unit were on scene providing refreshments and rehab for the men as they came out of the fire building. Mutual Aid companies were also on scene and covering city firehouses during the fire. The water problem in the city was expected to be repaired within 24 hours according to local TV news stations.
