Mastic NY- On the morning of Wednesday August 5th the Mastic Fire Department and Mastic Ambulance were activated for a 2 vehicle crash on Montauk highway between Roberts St and Pershing st. Chief of Department Rudy Sunderman arrived on scene to find a 2 vehicle Crash, no one was trapped. Engine 5-12-3 arrived on scene in minutes and the crew went to work cleaning up debris and the fluid Spill in the road.
While firefighters were operating on scene fire police unit 5-12-80 was ordered to close down Montauk highway heading east toward the scene. Suffolk county police had the road closed at the other end of the scene heading west for the safety of the emergency workers. 1 person was taken by Mastic Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital with minor injuries.
