On the evening of August 3rd from 5PM to about 8PM the Suffolk County Police 7th Precinct co hosted National Night Out at the William Floyd High School In Mastic Beach. This event is usually held annually in multiple areas and gives community members a chance to connect with not just vendors but also their local 1st Responders from Fire , EMS and Police agencies that serve their community. Though last year the event could not be held due to restrictions this years event was brought back and included demonstrations and give aways from Mastic and Mastic Beach FD's including apparatus on display. Mastic Beach, Shirley and Mastic Ambulance Companies which are the local EMS agencies in this area brought out a variety of vehicles and tools including , Ambulances, Chiefs vehicles and Responders. They also talked to children and families and educated them on their equipment. The biggest highlight though was the Suffolk Police Aviation Section which landed a helicopter in the field and had that on display lots of people flocked to see it while it was on scene and then got to see a take off/ fly over before it headed back to base.
